Shang Tsung walked through the purple portal and was now standing in the living room. He had called her beforehand to let her know he was coming by. He thought she could use a vacation. He knew she missed the times when she fought on her own, as opposed to delegating others to do so. He understood that full well.

And so, here he was in the house. He moved to sit on a chair and called out, "Sonya? I am here now..."

The sad thing about having a husband/partner that could read souls, is that they were usually right about such things. Except he was wrong about fighting on her own, it wasn't so much that she wanted to fight on her own, she just wanted to be able to fight-period.

Still, she'd be lying if she said she didn't want a vacation, and when Sonya admitted to wanting a vacation it must be bad.

Sonya'd just finished packing Danny's bag when the portal appeared. One of the bad things about having a baby was that they required an extra bag, when Sonya was used to carrying only one (two if she was bringing weapons), but atleast it was a small bag.

At Tsung's voice, Danny seemed to be even more squirmy when she set him in the carrier. Sonya took him and their two bags and met him.

Seeing Shang Tsung, the 8 month old reached out, trying to break from the straps. Three baby teeth were revealed as he babbled in an attempt at speech.

Sonya spared her son a look. "Nice try, Sprog." She looked at Tsung. "Remember, I'm bringing Danny."

	Shang nodded, as he looked at his son. He was pleased that he reacted so happily at seeing him arrive. But then, sons were usually that way when their fathers came home. Sonya thought a moment. She didn't really want to stay in America, since the whole point of a vacation was to get away, and while she could ask him to go to either Japan or China, well that would've been predictable.

"Trick question, I've been nearly everything worth seeing.." She considered. "Maybe somewhere in England? The last time I was there, I was more or less confined to bed rest and didn't get to see much."

Sonya still couldn't get over the fact that the 'previous' Tsung had managed to scare her Superiors into getting her a six month paid maternity leave. But Danny was conceived while she was on the pill and after that fiasco of a halloween party..

Maybe he was right to be concerned.

While they were talking, Danny was trying to free himself from the straps, but his hands were too small and clumsy to do much. Sonya produced a teething ring and gave it to him, thus distracting him from the straps.

"China it is then." If he had a place there already, it would make things easier. And it wasn't often Sonya had the chance to speak Chinese.

She hitched the bags on her right shoulder, Danny now focused on the teething ring.

"...You could find someone to watch him once and awhile?" Sure she wanted to spend sometime with Danny, but she could also appreciate 'adult' quality time.

	Shang nodded. "Yes, that can be arranged." He was then turning to point his hand in the air. A moment later and a purple vortex appeared. "Come, let us go now." Sonya jumped in a second after Tsung, making sure to keep a grip on her son's baby carrier.

It was a good thing they were away from the touristy areas or they would've gotten a lot more stares.

Danny dropped the teething ring, laughing from the 'ride'. "'gain". Sonya guessed he was saying 'again'.

Sonya herself took a deep breath, letting it out. "It's been five years for me."

	The vortex closed up behind them once he waved his hand. He did like portkeys.. but his own methods, he liked those as well. He laughed at his son's actions and then looked at Sonya. "Almost twice that for me.. still feels like home." (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

The problem though with portkeys, was that they were more turbulent, took longer and they only took you to one specific destination.

"Only ten years? I would've thought it'd been longer?" Though she supposed one really couldn't keep track after a hundred or so years.

Sonya took the teething ring back into one of the bags causing Danny to frown and try and grab it.

"No..mine."

Sonya just looked at him. "It's dirty because you dropped it on the ground." She took a better grip on her son's carrier (years of heavy lifting in the army-all for lugging a baby carrier).

Danny didn't look all that convinced.

She sighed. "Let's get to that place of yours then."

	"Hmm.. perhaps.." He shrugged with a smirk. Live long as I have, one sort of measures time differently." He nodded and then pulled out his phone to call a cab. Once done, he looked at Sonya. Sonya waited for him to finish the call, looking at him curiously.

"You actually have a cell phone?" She never really pictured Tsung preferring technology-using it on occasion, but not keeping it.

Danny seemed to enjoy the scenery, babbling happily. It was a nice change from the city, and the expanse of green was a new and interesting sight to him. Sonya couldn't blame him. As much as she was comfortable in the city, any sort of countryside held some fascination to her, after the desolation of Outworld.

She just nodded. "I've spent time in China before." Admittedly it was mostly in Hong Kong, but she had spent a day or two in the country side while given a 'weekend pass'.
