She'd been taking a bit of a nap between shifts when she'd heard it. The high pitched cry that pierced the brain in just the way nature intended, unrelenting as it dragged her out of bed. Shaking off sleep, it'd taken a moment for her to even realize she'd picked it up out of its basket, and once she did she was completely confused. It wasn't that she didn't know what it was, or what to do with it - it was that she had no fucking clue how it'd gotten into her house.

She specifically recalled not wanting one.

Sending a note to Momos, she waited, doing what she had to to keep it from making that noise again, ignoring how easy it was to fall into age-old routines she'd hoped she'd forgotten.

She hoped to fucking god this was something Momos just forgot to tell her about. Dashing a note off to him, she waited.
