Who: Erik and Dean
What: Oh hello, vampire and hunter!
Where: 13 Night Club in southern Manhattan
When: Tonight
Warnings: Grumpy vampire, hissy human. Prolly some swearing, little bit of blood, nothin' more.

Erik had been receiving very few approving responses from the board of new arrivals, but he wasn't daunted. Day walkers thought they were humans fangs and extended life, and most of them were far beyond young, in his opinion. And every single one of them didn't realize that what he spoke was the truth - there was no social structure to be heard of in vampire society here, and that never bodes well in any reality, at any time period.

He settled himself into his plush leather chair on the second floor of the night club, which gave him a great view of the entire floor, as well as easy access to the first floor and rooftop, should he need to go and intervene or mingle with celebritantes. He had out his blackberry and was adjusting his financial assets to make way for a major overhaul of the nightclub while still keeping it open for business, and that's when That Feeling came to him.

Perhaps it was all his many years of being a vampire, or an instinctive paranoia that kept him on his toes, but Erik actually could smell the scent of something other than fear, awe, and the usual nightclub pheremones. He could smell rage. He pocketed his blackberry and looked aloofly through the second floor to see if he could spot the human who dared to come to his club to pick a fight.

Dean really hated walking into vampire dens unarmed. It felt a little bit like a box of chicken nuggets sauntering into a bear cave, but packing would've been even worse. Sighing, he looked around the bar and wrinkled his nose at the music and the decor. It wasn't his type of joint, but then again, he wasn't there to have fun. But that didn't stop him from ordering a beer.

Taking a pull after tipping the bartender, he looked around, trying to see if he could spot the head honcho. He wasn't there on official hunting business, he was there on what he'd come to think of as a hybrid mission. In his own reality, the idea of meeting peaceably with a vampire would have boggled him. Since his time in the tornado, though, he'd been friends with a few, slept with God, and come to trust in the fact that sometimes aggression was really stupid and negotiation was actually a viable method of getting things done. For most people, that was called growing up, but Dean secretly suspected he was just settling down and didn't want his home life disrupted.

Silently cursing his son for having hacked Ye Olde Vampire Shindig, he leaned against the bar and waited for someone to notice that he wasn't a vampire groupie. He was wearing too much denim for that.

It didn't take long for Erik to notice Dean, with the denim and blue collar air about him not usually seen outside of midwest America. He motioned to the waiter nearby and asked him to point Dean in his direction, and waited patiently.

He looked positively bored with this. If this guy was a hunter, this world really didn't need as much protection as he was used to.

As the waiter reached the man wearing jeans and drinking down a newcastle, Erik kept an eye on them both, even as Dean was led to him.

"That didn't take long." Dean gave the bartender a tip of an invisible hat as he followed Erik's minion. When he was led upstairs, Dean made sure to mind every bit of etiquette that he'd ever been taught. Sure, it looked out of place to wait to be asked to sit down by the blond dude in front of him, but it sure beat being eaten.

"You came unarmed. That's... stupid of you, but I'll let it slide. What do you want, human?" Was the first thing out of Erik's mouth once Dean sat down. He didn't stop staring at him. It wasn't because he was trying to glamour Dean, the very opposite was true - if Dean was merely bait of a more elaborate trap, he simply wanted answers and that was that.

"Right, because if I'd come in here with stakes blazing, you'd have eaten me before I got through the door. Come on, I know I'm pretty, but I'm not a total dumbass." He sprawled out a little, still drinking his beer. Shrugging, he cocked his head to the side. "What I want is Elizabeth Hurley during her Austin Powers days to smuggle me away and make me her sex slave for an hour. Why I'm here is to find out if you really mean what you say. If you're not organizing a war." He leaned back, trying to look casual. Years of doing it made it a little more successful than most people would've been in his situation.

"You could have at least brought a gun, it would've given you some sense of protection. I'm not invulnerable," muttered Erik with a tone of condescending boredom, before he picked up a glass of the concoction Malakai had brought. "You hacked the thread. Clever. But yes, I mean every word of it. If it was a war I wanted, you and all the hunters would be the first to know. As you saw, nobody else seems to be very up on the idea of a hierarchy in the first place. So all I'm proposing are some rules that will help us better integrate to the world, and a network so that if one vampire or a group of them gets out of control, we will take care of them ourselves." He sipped the drink, a reddish concoction far too translucent to be blood. Erik had a stony, stoic expression, passive and bored. He'd seen far too many like Dean to be very surprised by Dean's balls to come right up to him, nor was he all that concerned by anything this man could do.

"I don't need a security blanket when you can disarm me with it. You're pretty damn see-through, buddy, and while you're rockin' it, because seriously, every damn woman in here wants in your pants, for me that equals fast like a monkey. I've been shot, it hurts, kinda wanted to avoid it." He shrugged and finished his beer, waving someone over to get him a fresh bottle.

Leaning back he nodded, rolling his eyes. "Vampires have that desperado thing going on, from what I see. Keep to their own nests just fine, but get damn antisocial when it comes to mingling. It's like high school with you guys for all eternity."

"Shame, that they're like that here. We're not a naturally antisocial creature in my world. We mingle with humans and always have for my entire existence and, in recent years, we revealed ourselves for what we are. It bothered some, but most of us felt it to be necessary." Erik took another sip of his drink before leaning back. "But yes. they do seem rather hesitant to come out of their holes and clanlike ways. I've seen this behavior before before the middle ages - when the savage feral clans of humans refused to integrate into a more civilized society. They got rather up in arms about it."

He smirked, "Your drinks are on me, mister..." He paused in waiting for Dean to give him a name.

Sighing, Dean didn't really want to tell him his family name. But he knew that the dude would find out easily enough; the Winchesters had assimilated completely into this world, reproduced, made names for themselves. "Winchester. But you can just call me Dean." He nodded. "Thank you."

Sitting back, he nodded in agreement. "Vamps where I'm from were like how you said. Hiding out in whatever buildings they could live in, squatting mostly, rambling from town to town after draining enough people to get noticed. Natural Born Killers shit must get old. Makes sense to go your way. After a while, rambling gets old and a body just wants to put their feet up and relax, you know?" Dean did. It was what he'd done.

"I still appreciate a change of scenery from time to time, it's in my nature," Erik said with a small shrug, "But for reasons completely other than that. I would have been just fine to stay as a sheriff in BFE Louisiana. I was based in Shreveport, but I still preferred that life to one that some nests, as you say, were capable of doing. We had a group ramble through the area recently and they caused enough of a disturbance that our human population got fed up and torched their house. Of course, I dealt with the humans who meddled in our affairs, but it's a matter of those who refuse to obey any common sense."

He shook his head and rolled his eyes, "And from what I've seen in my two days here, it seems like all this place needs is a structured set of rules. But even then, there's issue for that. If I had even the slightest desire, I'd defect and start a war on my own kind to get them to see that we need rules. But I'm not as underhanded as I may seem."

"Driven through Shreveport a lot. Played on the boats some, until the made me stop. Something about me not being allowed to cheat." He shrugged a little bit and listened more, shaking his head. "I don't have a problem with vampires who want to do their own thing that doesn't involve killing way too many people to eat. Never thought I'd say that, but it's something I came to eventually."

Leaning back a little bit, he blew lightly over the mouth of his half full beer bottle, making a low whistling sound. "You don't seem like anything but really tall, but I'm just a scrawny human."

Erik snorted and shook his head, "Really, you're not scrawny. I'd assume that you and your family, the Winchesters you said? It's a family tradition. Hunting usually is. So I'm assuming you know far better how to take care of feral vampires than most humans would. And that you're still wary. If we were at odds, I'm sure you'd pose a challenge to me." Not a very big one, spoke his tone, but he didn't say that out loud.

"I have a question for you, now. You've been here a while. An associate of mine gave me this," He said, pulling out an amulet - one that Bill Turner had crafted - from his shirt, letting it rest in plain sight, but did not take it off. "Tell me, did you know who created this, and where I could find more?"

Dean listened to the vampire's platitudes, not really taking them seriously. He looked visibly peeved when Erik mentioned his family, but he said nothing. He wasn't about to give names, and he sure as shit wouldn't mention them. He wasn't going to load the gun for someone who might want to use it against him.

Leaning forward, his eyes widened. "Bill made that. Bill Turner. He's not here now, but he was a vampire that got on with people. He and I were buddies." His voice betrayed how much he missed his friend. "But yeah, with Bill gone, don't know where you'd get a hold of more of those. Bill was mystic out the ying yang, and has been for probably his whole damn life. Since he was pretty old, doubt you could find someone to make it the same way."

"Hm. Pity. He only gave my associate two. I don't particularly trust in talismans, as I myself am quite old. Magic only works to varying degrees, and the older one is, the more issues we run into regarding magic." Eric sat back again, putting the talisman back under his shirt. "Still, it helped me get to my house and back today after waking up to deal with the daywalkers." He sipped his drink again, almost visibly agitated by the very thought of them.

"It's also a shame that this Bill Turner has left. I would have made quite a useful alliance with him." He shrugged and put it out of his mind. "Is there anything else you wanted to know, Dean? I'm not going to promise the moon and stars and say that the world will be better because of what I proposed to my kind, but... I can say that if they listened to my proposal with open minds, we might be able to put your kind out of a job."

"Bill was smart and knew a lot about everything. I miss him. It's a shame he's gone for a lot of reasons. And don't walk out during the day if you don't want to. Just keep it as insurance." He shrugged, smiling a little.

Shaking his head, he smiled a little. "Hey, I consider this insurance too. It'd be nice to be able to actually retire for once. Instead, I just sort of sit at home and wait for shit to hit the fan."

"Sounds like he was still clinging to his humanity. I don't consider myself human by any stretch of the imagination. I don't delude myself like that," Erik said with a shake of his head, "however, I refuse to be seen as an animal to be hunted, nor will I tolerate any member of my species be seen in that light." He nodded then, "Well, then, tell your family that there are those of us who seek to give structure to an anarchistic, archaic society, and that I personally am willing to talk to any hunter that insists we're all evil. ... the evil part might be true, but it is not up to humans to judge another creature, or so I've been told."

"Bill... he was a man of learning more than anything, I think. I think he hated resorting to the primal 'cause he'd seen so much done." Dean shrugged. "I don't pretend to know how vampires think. I just know Bill wasn't one."

He nodded. "I'll tell 'em. 'Specially the ones that think you're dreamy or some crap. What is it with women and long hair? Seriously." He ran his fingers through his own spikey hair, sending it sticking up further.

"I'm considering getting it cut. It was longer in life, actually. Blame the fact that scissors weren't invented until much later, and barbers long after that." He ran his own hand through his hair and shrugged.

"Grow yours out if you're envious over the length." Said Erik in a tone that implied anything but hair.

"Oh, don't worry, I think I'm just about long enough. Almost too long, if you ask some people I've known." He smirked a little bit. He'd never felt insecure about his ability to pick up women. "Just don't want my daughters in here flirting."

He blinked after he let it slip, and quietly hoped to himself that either Erik was as noble as he seemed, or that God would do as she'd said and watch out for his family.

"They can flirt all they want, but I assure you, there's nothing I love more than to keep my head safely secured to my neck, and my heart free from ashen daggers. Especially now that I consider you to be a very important acquaintance." He smirked, "I'll make a deal with you now, Dean. You leave my kind alone, and I won't have to find your entire family and end them." He paused and then blinked. "Wait, that came out far too brutish. Oh well, you know what I meant by it. Leave my kind to my kind, you'll be well off."

"That makes far older than what's allowed. And I'm sure they're just heartbroken over it, too." He finished his drink and stood, offering a hand to Dean. "Shapeshifters and other supernatural entities have never been a problem with me before, and they rarely bother in large cities like this. If I get anything I can't deal with, I'll know who to contact."
