The past few days had been pretty stressful for Kia. It felt like suddenly the stable platform she'd been cruising on had been yanked out from underneath her and no amount of alcohol, drugs and sex with random men had been able to make it better.

She wasn't quite sure how it happened, but she was pretty sure it had been all her fault. Which did not make it any better. So right now, she was in desperate need of some kind of comfort. Desperate enough to try cuddling with her husband. Not that she was going to call it that. What was she a fucking prissy girl?

After she got done talking to Eliot, she began to pace her bedroom. She was slightly nervous.

	Eliot wasn't entirely sure what to make of Kia's request, but he'd known things were not quite right with her the past few days. He shut off his computer, before going up to her, to see how this was all going to play out. "Kia? Honey. I'm here." 	"Not right now, I don't think." Kia was wearing a pair of Eliot's boxers and one of his white shirts, so she was pretty comfortable as it was. That was one good thing about having a man in the house, they had comfortable clothes. Scooting back along the bed, she laid back against the pillows and gave him a "what now" look. There was a definite air of vulnerability around Kia right now. Something that people rarely saw and that she often hid behind alcohol and partying. But Eliot was getting the raw Kia. The Kia that grew up looking for attention and love and needed it desperately. Something so rarely shown, even she didn't know it was there. She just knew she hated it.

"Ok." Her head nestled under his chin and she listened to the steady beat of his heart. "This place sucks sometimes, you know?"

He had two choices then, a lie or the truth. Both were as incriminating and uncomfortable as the other. In the end, he shook his head. He didn't want to open that can of worms.

"Never seen the point." The fact he slipped back into his native, colloquial speech might have been telling. He shrugged it off. It hardly mattered, he didn't see any point in falling in love, being in love, or even claiming to be in love. Love rationalised out to vulnerability, and Eliot was not vulnerable.
