Anthony sighed. He gave one of the girls a quick kiss and moved her over to another of them. It didn't take long for them to began entertaining themselves with one another. Not allowing himself to get distracted, Anthony moved to his friend.
"Not a good idea, Charles," he said. "You don't really mean that, either. It's just the liquor talking."
He sat on the stool beside Charles. "Jane adores you, man," he said. "More than any woman I've known who has been with you. And remember, I come from further in the future then you. I remember her marriage to Harry and her death. Yes, she loved Henry, but she was sad too. You... you make her smile in ways I've not seen. And she does the same to you. You loved Margaret then Catherine after her, but you never had the same light in your eyes as you do with Jane. That means something."
