Anthony touched the pouting woman's shoulder and gave her a soft kiss. "Will you ladies give us a moment?" he said. He fanned some bills at them and they nodded, taking the money, moving off to dance nearby with one another, leaving the three men alone.
Anthony turned to look at Charles then Henry before Charles again. "Didn't you tell me about some misunderstanding at Halloween between Gabriella and Jane that hurt Jane's feelings? A misunderstanding that led to you and Jane even getting together?" he asked. "Maybe Gabriella does know? Besides, from what little I know of Jane, she's not one to really kiss and tell. And she's rather quiet when things hurt her. If she associates a memory with pain, she doesn't seem to like talking about it."
Anthony moved over to his friend after pulling his pants up and sat beside him, putting a hand on his shoulder. "Charles, she's marrying you. She loves you. What happened before that shouldn't matter. Should it?"
