Who: Kimber and Carrie
What Drunken debauchery
Warnings: Nah

Kimber looked more 'eighties' than usual, in neon pink and green pajamas with her hair pulled up in a high ponytail. She sat on the floor, surrounded by throw pillows and blankets, with wine glasses on the coffee table in front of her. When she heard the knock on the door, she jumped up and went over to open it.

She wasn't drunk; just a little tipsy. She wrapped her arms around Carrie and pulled the girl into a big hug before she could even make it into the entryway. "Thanks for coming," she said, pulling the other girl in to the unconventional wake. The record player in the center of the room was playing Jackson Five. She hadn't been at this very long yet.

If she were honest, Carrie would admit that she really didn't care that a pop icon had died. She was a music fan, sure, and she felt the familiar vague sadness that came with any celebrity passing when she'd found out the news, but she wasn't exactly beside herself. The real reason she'd decided to come over was that she wanted to see one of her best friends and that there'd be free booze.

"Oh whoa," Carrie said when she was pulled into a hug. She was stiff in Kimber's arms before relaxing a little and awkwardly patting her on the back. When released, she smirked and entered the apartment, catching sight of the pillows and blankets and Kimber's outfit. "Hi."

Kimber wasn't exactly wearing a t-shirt with Michael's face on it, or anything, but she definitely looked like she was stuck in the eighties.. Moreso than usual. "You're so tight all the time," she complained. "Come have a drink." She retrieved a wineglass for Carrie and gestured to the bottles on the counter. She'd acquired them over time--housewarming gifts, album deals.. She rarely drank, so they became 'for a special occasion' bottles. They were nothing hugely extravagent or rare, but they were still very good wines.

Kimber let Carrie choose her own wine before refilling her glass with the blush and sat down again. "C'mere," she said, patting a pillow nearby. She turned the record over and started side B.

"You're already buzzed," Carrie observed, amused. She couldn't really recall a time she'd seen Kimber drunk, so this night would prove to be fun. If she could remember it the next day.

Carrie poured herself a drink without really taking a long time to decide on what drink she'd have. After a glance, she was pouring herself a glassful of wine. Swiftly, Carrie dropped to the floor and made herself comfortable among the pillows, managing to not drop her drink. This was all reminiscent of her childhood and her insane and oft stupid parents. "So. What's up?"

"Oh my gosh, Carrie," Kimber sped over the words, her breath rushed. "It's so sad! I was so in love with him!" She set down her drink to change the record. The Jackson Five album wasn't finished, but it felt weird to talk about being in love with a guy when he was ten years old. Time for 80's Michael.

She leaned over, resting her chin on Carrie's shoulder. "I can't believe it, Carrie! I just can't! He's my age!"

Carrie gave Kimber the appropriate comforting pats and nodded along. She'd never really cared for this dude's music much, but she wasn't about to admit that right now. "Yeah," she said, heaving a little sigh, "It really sucks." When Kimber mentioned her age, Carrie had to hide a smirk. She did so with her glass of wine, quickly downing some of it. "You're fifty?" She asked once she'd recovered.

"What? No!" Yes, the idea of being fifty was absolutely terrifying. The fact that she was regularly banging a dude in his fifties was not on her mind. "Stupid time thingy," she said, hiding her pout with another sip of wine. He'd been pretty much her age before she'd gone through the vortex. A few years older than her, but still. Way to young to die.

"Relax," Carrie said. This time, she couldn't really hide her smile. Kimber was freaking out about being old and that was absolutely ridiculous. Carrie was more than a little tempted to remind her that Ollie wasn't exactly a young thing, but held her tongue for fear of making the girl cry.

"It's... it's going to be okay?" Carrie swallowed the rest of her glass whole. Not only because she was a pre-alcoholic, but also because she needed to be a little buzzed to deal with this sort of crazy emotional show.

"I'm fine. I'm fine," Kimber said, sticking her tongue out at Carrie to prove that she wasn't freaking out. At least, that was the logic she was going with right now. She was also a little ADD when she was tipsy. She nudged Carrie with her knee.

"Are you getting more?" she asked. "You should just bring one of the bottles over. We should watch something." Beautiful segue. "I wish I had his music videos on tape. I used to. Stupid vortex thingy. Sometimes I wish I was still in the 80's." Things were pretty good here. She had good friends, and a nice boyfriend, and an awesome career. There were things she missed, though. Like Michael Jackson.
