Entry tags:sindre, torii sou wartooth

Who: Torii & Sindre
Where: Mordhaus, there's more space there.
When: Now-ish
What: yay costumes!
Why: 'cos Tremendously Carousal is going to do a show eventually, and she'll need a costume.
Warnings: None likely, possible swearing.

After she'd woken up and made up with Robbie by way of a minigolf tournament, Torii had gone about returning calls from people who'd left messages after she'd ranted at them. She assured Sindre that yes, she was fine, everything had worked out, and to just come over whenever to finalize a stage costume for whenever the band actually went live.

Just at that particular moment she was in Monty's playroom, taking him through his paces, she'd ignored him for the past two days and felt bad for it.

Sindre popped into Mordhaus about twenty minutes after he got off the phone with Torii and completely baffled Teja, who'd been watching the main hall monitor when Sindre simply teleported into the main room. But that was enough to get him to come up and lead Sindre to the playroom, trying very hard to ignore the bubbly Skwigelf in a skirt.

Sindre popped his head in, the plastic barrettes in his hair clicking against each other, and he beamed, "Good evening! Your brother told me where to find you. Oh, what a cute dog! Hello, mister doggie!" Stepping into the room, backpack slung over his shoulder, Sindre crouched down in his broom skirt to scratch the bulldog behind its ears. "How are you, Torii? I hope you don't mind, I brought pre-sorted jellybeans!"

"Monty, Sindre, Sin, Monty, now that you're acquainted, play nice." Monty's initial reaction, of course, was to plop himself down in a sit and offer a paw to shake, tilting his head back to look at Torii for approval.

Torii grinned at the statement, "I would say that takes all the fun out of it, but we've got more important things to do! I think, we do, right?"

Sindre shook Monty's paw and patted him on the head before standing back up and nodding, "I think so. I think we were going to do something with your dress. I forgot to bring the one I'm working on at home, but that's okay, you've got a few here, right? I brought all sorts of things. Beads, sequins, glitter glue, rhinestones... Oh! And costume jewelry that you'll like, I think. I don't remember, are your ears pierced or do you wear clip ons? I brought both kinds."

His secret to remembering those was that he always had those things in his backpack.

"One's got three holes, one's got two, but sometimes I wear clip-on ones anyway just because they're more fun." She grinned then, unclipping Monty's leash to let him have free rein while they worked, unfolding and dusting her knees, "Yeah, c'mon, stuff's all in my room, across the hall."

Also in her room was an epic battle being waged by peeps in construction paper hats, shields and weapons, it took up one whole corner, along the mock-windowsill shelf that she'd put in, across one end of her desk and in a wide spread across the floor.

Having become used to treading carefully in Torii's room many, many years ago, Sindre made sure not to tip over a single peep, and set his backpack down with a smile. "You seem to have a marshmallow infestation."

He took out the many bags and packages of beads and other bric-a-brac, and set them down according to color, so Torii could be able to easily pick and choose. "Oh, these sequins are all sorts of colors, so you'll have to ask me the colors if you want to use those." He said, pointing to a bag. "And here's the jewelry." He handed her a large velvet drawstring bag and grinned. "Straight out of my attic. I have an overstock."

She was already rooting through the closet for some of the former prom and/or bridesmaid dresses she had on hand, a couple of which hadn't been spangled yet, "Yeah, they cropped up while I was out. They'll be gone again soon enough." She said, only slightly muffled.

She beamed again, slinging the dresses over the headboard to take the bag, giving it a gentle shake before spreading out one of the skirts to catch the jewelry as she upended the bag.

The bag held a bunch of earrings, rings, and necklaces, all purely gaudy and obviously Old Granny wear. He giggled and sat down beside the pile, smiling as he plucked out a spangly brooch, holding it up to her. "It's fuchsia and that awful pea-green. It's so silly!" His favorite things were the ridiculous ones, and he thought that the ridiculous things would work best for Tremendously Carousel shows.

"It's hideous! I think." She grinned, clearly this was a good thing, "It'll go with the dress, anyway. One of them." She pulled it out of the pile, a raspberry and fuchsia thing, mostly satin, she'd been bedazzling the ruffles on the skirt with green and teal, so that they'd match the equally sparkly shoes she'd found, "Here, this one."

Sindre couldn't help but giggle and clap his hands at the awfully ugly dress. "Oh, that's so awful. I have just the thing for that!" He held up dangling earrings with dangling teal roses at the bottom of them. "See, now these would look good with that. And by that I mean hideous. It's perfect!"

"Marvelous!" She said, grinning again, "I've got a few dresses, figuring we'll have more than one or two shows, don't know that we'll have many more than that, but we've got a little buzz already, so that's... well, don't know if it's good but it's something, anyway."

She shrugged, "If nothing else I can wear them when I confuse the tourists."

"Well, there's always the music video route. I figured if you put one out, it would establish you as a 'real' band with 'real' importance." He shrugged one shoulder, "Wearing them to confuse the tourists further is always a smart plan, though. Oh! Speaking of, I'm planning on doing a show with altoids glued all over my body. You should come watch. I'm working on making a giant fake mint plant to sit in. I'll be the king of fresh breath."

"I'd think that would get itchy." Was her only comment on this. She shrugged then, putting the pink dress aside and tugging another one out of the pile, it was some ungodly love child of a sailor-style dress and something more suited to an old-west revue, dark blue with black edging and red anchors applique'd here and there.

"This one's good too. I usually use this one when giving giving people directions along the Thames."

Sindre nodded, "Well, yes, they sting if they're the cinnamon ones, but the mint ones aren't so bad. I already shellacked the bottom of about three tins worth so they won't be so itchy." He shrugged, "It's no worse than the body paint with the glitter in it." He didn't take much time at all to start working on bead-dazzling the pink and green skirt, which still had a bit to get done.

"So, Robbie's sisters showed up. I'm letting one of them stay with me. She's... well, she's a story."

"Ohh, that makes sense." She said, nodding, though there was a browarch at the rest, head tilting as she set the blue dress aside, leaning over the side of the bed to rummage around for her tacklebox-sewing kit, setting to work on the cream-and-gold dress, since she knew what she wanted to do with that one, "That whole family kind of is."

"She's a personal story. What matters is that I really like her a lot and I'm not sure if I could love anyone if that anyone is anyone but her." He shrugged and continued to work on the skirt, head tilted with a concentrating grimace. "I'm still so surprised that Robbie is a one-woman guy now. I'm not surprised the two of you are together, he needed more light in his life."

She nodded at that, "Part of why I didn't kick him to the curb." A shrug, already detaching one of the sleeves from the dress, "And the other part is, well..." An eloquent shrug and, yes, that was Torii blushing.

Also TOTALLY focused on her work at the moment.

"Huh." Came the utterly eloquent response. "Wonder if that runs in the family?" Sindre smiled a bit faintly, chewing on his lower lip as he tilted his head and put another couple of spangles onto the skirt.

Torii shrugged once she got the sleeve off, digging through her thread to find the gold, "You said you brought jellybeans, didn't you?" If there was one thing to be said for Torii, it was that she was fantastic at changing the subject.

And Sindre always fell for it because his attention span ran at the length of Japanese TV commercials. "Hm? Yeah! They're in my bag, I wrote down their names on the bags, so you know which ones you're snagging. You can have the licorice ones. I already ate all the purple ones."

He stretched faintly and went back to work, humming to himself - offkey and rather disjointed.

Which was just fine with Torii, really, since she could keep track of the rhythm of it and not much else. She set the dress aside to wiggle off the edge of the bed, retrieving jellybeans and sitting down again, gnawing as she set back to work.

"So I don't know if you've actually listened to what we're trying to pass off as music, and I'm not going to make you listen to it, because it really really sucks."

"I love my ears too much, but if you ever need a guest trumpeter, I can pretend to play badly. I don't play that much anymore, only once in a while to confuse people when I play Flight of the Bumblebee at twice its usual speed." He grinned then and spun the skirt around to look at it. "Does that look sparkly enough or should I go for broke?"

"I'll talk to Robbie, we haven't actually even done a show yet, and so far we've really just got the one song. Just two different cuts of it is all."

She grinned at the dress, "Only one way to know for sure." She yoinked it and vanished into the closet, emerging not long after with the dress thrown on over her jeans, bouncing a little experimentally, "Well it's not too heavy yet, that's good."

Sindre squealed with delight when she came out with it. "I'll work on the sequins then, work them up in weird veins up the shiny fabric part." Standing up to grab the bag of sequins, the tall, lanky young man's skirt barely tipped a peep. "Of course, it'll be one little toot, and then another. Really, you could do it yourself. You can borrow my trumpet!"

She cackled at that, shaking her head, "No, I'm already mangling the guitar-sounds. We might be letting Princess play the synthesizer for us, just on account of it'll make me laugh and confuse the hell out of people at the same time."

She twisted to look at the skirt-ruffles, "That could work, or like, right where the gems dip you can make a swoop with the sequins, like dust coming off a sand dune."

Sindre's eyes widened in delight. "Oh yes! that'd look amazing! And goodness, Princess. I think she's in love with my hair. I remember the first time I came over to their house when I gauged my ear this big and she got one of her danglies stuck in the hole. Poor girl." He rubbed his ear when he remembered. "Took their dad a few minutes to coax her out of panic mode."

"Ouch." Was Torii's response, wincing in sympathy, "I let her do mine sometimes, she's better at separating out the colory bits than I am."

She tilted her head then, "Wonder if we could borrow her as our stylist before our first show, whenever that comes up."

There was a pause as he thought about that, and it took a while before he came up with the response of, "Have you two tried getting a place to book you? I'm sure there's plenty of university towns that would love to have you there."

The smile on Sindre's face was near sneaky, and he quirked a brow, "How long are you two planning on letting this experiment last?" He honestly found the whole idea wonderfully artistic and wholly fun. Sometimes, the world needed something as ludicrous as their band or his art to shake it up.

She shrugged, "Until we get bored of it I guess. Or until everyone else does. I think the initial goal was to see how long it took for the scene kids to start defending us with badly-worded and equally badly-typed arguments on the internet."

"I'm sure those are fantastic, too. I'd listen to those being read any day. Phonetically, of course." He went back to working on the dress, and giggled, "Maybe you could read them as lyrics."

She grinned at that, "I like that plan. Right now we're using one of Lilo's medical books and spam emails."

She shrugged, wandering into the closet again to wriggle out of the dress and put her shirt back on, "That and whatever vocabulary words happen to fall out."

Sindre giggled with a bounce, "The entire album could be by the fans, for the fans, and if anyone sues, you could claim that internet comments fall under a fair share commons use."

Sindre apparently was done with detail work for a while, as he somehow managed to distract himself into petting and giving scratches to Monty, instead.

Monty was totally fine with this, tail wagging, knocking over another one of the peeps and causing a chain reaction, rather like dominos really, just stickier.

Torii had flopped herself down on the bed again, finishing up with what she was doing to the other dress' sleeve before she forgot what she was going to do, "That's providing that anyone can even understand the lyrics if we're doing them phonetically and the way we've been doing things."

"That would be an important factor, I guess." Sindre was noncommittal, his attention nearly completely sucked away by the pooch. "Supposing anyone cared enough to sue." Sometimes, he was far too easily distracted, because he decided right about then was the time he needed to start texting AND petting Monty. "I should get home soon, since now I've got a roommate. I want you to meet her! She's really neat. She's a ballerina and she's a vegan. She's like Glyndaa only not related to us and kind of wants my dick at all times."

There was a pout of worry before Sindre said, "Are you sure? I do enjoy spending time with you, but on the other hand, she just got here and I've got a year's worth of make up sex to attend to." With a melodramatic pose of his hand to his forehead, he sighed heavily and fluttered his eyelashes, "It's so tough being me."

Sindre bounced up and kissed Torii's cheek. "I promise to come see you soon, then. You can keep the bags of things here, I've got more at home." He put his cell phone into his backpack and shouldered it again. "See you soon!" And with that, he teleported right out of the room.
