She had tried hitting, punching, struggling, all of it to no avail She'd finally gone limp, shaking in fear as she whimpered protestations that fell on deaf ears. Her eyes were closed tight as she tried to block out what was happening to her, an occasional scream from her own mouth as something hurt reminding her of it all.
The moment he was off her she scrambled away, not even looking at first to see what had happened. The exit to the room was blocked, and she huddled in the corner of the kitchen in shock as she saw her husband, attacking the man she'd brought home.
"Henry? Oh my god, Henry, don't..."
She wasn't telling him to stop, so much as telling him not to get hurt. If he got hurt, it'd be her fault.
