She had been walking along merrily as she shopped when she heard the horns blaring. Her first instinct was to check the baby - which she remembered belated she didn't have with her - the second was to make sure no car was hurtling toward her. That took about three seconds. A glance around was enough to show her what the hold up was - or more pertinently, who the holdup was.
She took in the confused look on his face, the whoosh of air she'd mistaken for a normal breeze, and the fact that he clearly didn't belong there, and took a chance.
"Hey... You look lost. Might want to step out of the intersection there."
