Sophie was surprised by how good her mood was now, after having split. She'd thought she would be devastated. Her fear and worry of taking that jump had faded away into a deep contentment she didn't realize she would be able to feel on her own. The last of her doubt disappeared when Ms. Frost told Sophie she was proud of her. Sophie didn't think she'd ever been this happy in her life.
When she heard the doorbell, Sophie raced down the stairs, a towel wrapped tightly around her.
'Hi!' she sent loudly to him as she opened the door. 'Come on!' She grinned, her excitement leaking everywhere as she started running toward the steps that led downward to the pool area. It was heated and inside, but the roof over it was glass, so they could see the stars and the moonlight.
