It had taken her quite a lot of time to figure out exactly what had happened. It had taken her even longer to decide what to do about it. Or rather, not to decide. Having finally learned what Soren had done, she curled up in a windowsill for lack of anyone to talk to or tell her what was going on. She was half terrified she'd go home and find a funeral... or a lock she couldn't open.
It was Miniver who finally found her. Deciding almost immediately that she must be in a state of mild shock, he spoke to her very gently, in one of his sober moods when his actual wisdom and level-headedness always surprised her. Miniver told her all he knew about what had happened (not much), and how Soren was doing and where he was, and told her quite firmly that she had to go home now.
She let him help her up out of the windowsill, and lead her back to the island. Once inside, Miniver kisses her forehead and goes off to the kitchen to make tea, leaving her to decide for herself what to do.
It takes her a few minutes, but she finally manages to get some coherent thoughts through her head, and goes into the bedroom. Saying nothing, she sits on the side of the bed and touches Soren.
