Bella Donna Boudreaux loves cooking and murder ([info]poisonwine) wrote in [info]utr_logs,

Who: Belle and Dwight
What: Raiding Julien's house
When: around noon
Rating: probably some disturbing imagery, triggering material may also follow.

It was a beautiful day. The sun was bright, and it was much warmer than London. But Belle wasn't enjoying the weather. She was, in point of fact, still wearing a pretty long canvas trench coat which was buttoned up to hide all of the clothing under it. Her hands were shoved in her pockets, and she whistled tunelessly as she waited.

She wondered what she would find in her brother's home, and how she would react to it. Bringing a stranger had been a good idea, it would keep her from breaking down at inopportune times.

Dwight arrived, wearing his own trenchcoat, knives, guns, and a few other weapons concealed within it. He spotted her quickly and moved to her, grinning a little.

Hopefully, this would be a cinch.

He was afraid of what would happen otherwise.

"Hey, beautiful, ready to pry this can?"

She chuckled, putting her cigarette out. "As ready as I'll ever be."

She motioned for Dwight to follow her. Knowing the area had helped her secure a pretty cheap rental car. It was a hell of a lot better than walking.

He followed, ready and watching. A hot chick, and a strange day.

This ought to be fun!

She laughed inwardly at his thoughts. "You do this sort of thing a lot?"

It wasn't the best looking car in the world, but it would get them there and back. She slid into the driver's seat, having left it unlocked.

"I do what is needed. And when someone needs help, if I can help, I do it."

He settled next to her, belting in and slinging himself more comfortably.

"That's nice of you." She noted, pulling out onto the road. The traffic was light, and they made good time. "Where you stayin' normally?"

She could conceivably need help again, after all.

He shrugged.

"I do what I need to do."

he chuckled.

"Seattle. An interesting city."

"I've been there. It's pretty interestin'. But I'd rather be down here."

Except not necessarily in Lafayette. It had always been boring to her.

The house loomed into view, far away from any of the other houses around it. "That's the place. Shouldn't be too difficult t' get the most valuable stuff. I've arranged for a U-haul t' be brought here around six, so that gives us about four hours t' explore the house and figure out what we're gonna take. Only thing we're leavin' is the art, since that's bound for a museum, and that's what I would have doen with it anyway."

"It's better now."

He grinned.

"An interesting house. Any defenses?"

He eyed her.

"Not on the outside. Only thing we really gotta worry about at the moment is gettin' inside."

She'd never learned how to pick locks.

He nodded, listening.

"Any neighbors or alarms?"

A long thin knife slid into his hand from his trench.

Belle quirked an eyebrow. "Not that I know of. No neighbors for certain."

If she weren't a telepath she'd be really freaked out by his choice of words and actions.

"Then I can get us in."

He grinned.

Belle chuckled, pulling into the driveway. "Then go ahead, by all means."

She slid out of the car, leaving it unlocked again. If they needed to make a quick exit, that would help a lot. And if it got stolen, she was planning on stealing her brother's car anyway.

He exited, then walked to the door, knife flickering as he slid it against the hinges, and sliced into the wood. Knowing where to get obscure japanese items was a nice thing to have.

Easing the door aside he grinned at her.

"Woodknife. A nice thing."

Belle whistled, impressed. "Nice." She stepped inside, tilting her head as though she was listening. "Nobody else here. Good."

She slid the door back over it's hole, and took her trenchcoat off. Underneath was a skin tight body suit, covered in a combination of knives and tools. She fished her cigarettes and lighter out of her pocket, and rolled them into her sleeve.

"Alright. Start at the top 'n' work our way down?"

He chuckled and followed.

"Sounds like a plan. What exactly should I look for, any ideas?"

The main room was richly anointed, but still held little of value.

"Anything sellable. I've got a few fences, but unless you've got better people than me, there ain't gonna be much. Odds are all the stuff we're after is gonna be below ground."

She led the way up the stairs, her hands resting unconsciously on the hilt of her knives.

He followed her.

"That works."

The stairs led the way to the first landing from which stretched a hall, well appointed with thick and deep carpet, and three shut doors, all solid and wood. The stairway stretched up to one more level above them, with a similar hall.

Belle went to the very top floor, meaning what she'd said about starting at the top. She peered into the hall, and then shrugged, trying the first door on the left.
