After Lara had dismissed all the guides they'd had until now, she had thought Mia would be worried. She should have known better. The former mercenary didn't seem to be too upset, aside from her disdain for whacking down large vines. Grabbing a particularly wide one and slicing it effortlessly, she turned with a grin on her face.
"Well I did warn you, darling. It isn't as if you weren't aware of the possibility." Turning, she pushed her way through the overgrowth to hack at another branch and nearly caught a face full of web. Eyeballing the spider at the center of it, she identified it as mostly harmless, but didn't want to disturb it. Lara chose to go around it and let it be. "Careful Mia, we'll just let this little bugger alone."
Adjusting the straps of her pack in order to grab her canteen of water, Lara stopped to judge the distance left before she answered Mia's question. Chugging the liquid briefly, she capped the canister and removed the map from her pack. To most people, the parchment probably looked like a bunch of meaningless squiggles and nonsense, but with this, Lara was in her element.
"We've got about half a mile left until we reach the outside of the ruins. We'll set up base camp there for the rest of the day and tonight, then resume hiking in the morning. The ruins are in the walls of the ravine and we'll have to traverse a gorge to get to them."
