Who: Mia and Lara What: Tomb raiding! Er, a treasure hunting job. Where: Brazil When: Today
"We may have to hack our way through the jungle, huh?" Mia quoted Lara wryly as the two fought their way through the dense foliage that blocked their way. Vines and leaves of all kinds were entangled and snarled together and required a machete -- or, in Mia's case, a lightsaber -- to get through. Tall trees stretched toward the sky, their leaves and branches creating dancing patterns of light along the jungle floor. The heat and humidity were almost overpowering, so any shadow was more than welcome.
After first portkeying to the nearest major city, the two women had been on nearly every type of transportation imaginable, as Lara had said -- small planes, Jeeps, pack animals, and when the terrain had gotten too rough even for mules, they'd proceeded on foot. Supplies and tools were in backpacks they both wore.
Mia paused for a moment to wipe the sweat off her forehead with the back of her other hand, and ignored the trickles of sweat currently traveling down her back underneath her tank top. Despite the circumstances, she usually loved this sort of thing. And she was enjoying herself, there was just the slightest bit of nerves about something dangerous happening. She'd been training with Qui-Gon ever since... but that was training. This was real. She was used to these sorts of reactions during the war and had always shoved it aside, but she'd been trying to deal with it differently this time. Now she wasn't sure what might bring back any sort of flashbacks or if anything would at all. But there was only one way to find out.
