His eyebrow arched only a little. "No family here?" he asked. "I mean I know mine are technically back in the 1930s. I didn't arrive here with any family. But what about you?"
There was something that bugged him about the idea that she was alone. He drank more of his coffee.
"No significant other?" Well Rick that was a dumb ass question, he thought to himself. Would she really have taken you up on the offer of coffee if she were seeing someone?
"Okay, sorry, that was a dumb question," he admitted to her. "Been awhile since I had coffee with a beautiful woman that wasn't Evy and I get the impression a lot of things are different in this time period then the one I am from."
