Miniver snorts and crosses his arms. "Whatever. You get to have yours at least." And oh, that's envy. Miniver's always had a strange sort of fondness for children, at a distance. He was for years completely appalled by the idea of having to be near one, but he's always had a sympathetic spot for them -- hence, his habit of sending things to Pickles' son. And at his age -- almost 40 -- there's a part of him that still holds on to the values he grew up with, that you're supposed to settle down and have children. He wouldn't ever realistically last one night with a small child in any home he lives in, but that doesn't stop him from wishing he'd been able to know the child he DOES have.
