"Yes, of course it's you, I think I'd know your voice by now.." she said a bit stubbornly but good naturedly. He actually sounded happy to hear her voice, go figure. "Here is in.. oh man, you just got here and called me and no one's explained this stuff to you. I'm in New York, actually. It's where I live now." Sure she knew that she should stop and explain and everything, but that wouldn't be any fun.
While she waited for him to contemplate what she said, be baffled by it and then try and figure out what was going on, she sat back at her desk and glanced around. Well this was going to be interesting to say the least. She'd never had to explain it before. Generally she left that kind of thing up to Shawn. Figured he might actually make it fun and interesting.
"Just breathe, first of all. Look, I know that.. no we don't have any cases, Lassiter, just listen to me okay?" Juliet took a deep breath. Well, here went nothing. "You know how a couple of minutes ago there was something like a tornado, or a hurricane that kind of dropped you off here, and you woke up in a strange place. Kind of like Dorothy in Oz? Well, just kind of imagine that's real. Tornado brought you to a whole new shiny world. Except where this new shiny world looks like our own. And no, I'm not delusional, I haven't hit my head, and I've not gone crazy. Oh and this isn't a joke."
She said it in her best 'reassuring and serious' voice that she could muster.
