"Right. No Outworld, no Shao Kahn, no threat to the world, no reason to stay married to this guy," Johnny had said over her, but soon Sonya was relocating them, Cage kind of surprised at her ability as much as how strong she was when she shoved him through that portal.
He rubbed at his eyes with the butt of his hands on the other side and looked around, seeing the city around them, all bright lights and deep blues and purples.
"Right, a year. It was a fling. I could have kept it up, she was a wildcat in bed, but I didn't because I didn't love her," Johnny retorted, "There was nothing there. She was nice, we got along great. Didn't really fight much. I had so many reasons to stick around but why? So in fifty years I can think, well damn, I should have done it differently? You really think you have to sell yourself short like that? It sounds like all the reasons to be with him are as valid as the reasons you had to hate him."
Johnny approached her then, grabbing for Sonya's shoulder to pull her in for a rather dramatic and spontaneous kiss.
