She looked over at the crib, knowing that if this was going where she feared it would, the child would wake up again screaming. She couldn't comfort him when she felt herself about to explode from frustration.
"Of course I was annoyed, but I had other things to worry about besides my own emotions. I'm in the army, and in the army, just because you're faced with a situation you don't like, that doesn't make it okay to mope about it.You have to just suck it up and make do. There are other races that want my race dead and Power is the thing only they respect. They know Tsung is more dangerous and powerful than I am. As much as it annoys me, Tsung was my only 'true' ally in Outworld, I can't be so impulsive as try and kill one being who stands between my people and annihilation."
"Yes, here I have friends, but in Outworld, all my friends are either dead or in exile and if I were to try to search for them it would be their death sentence. Here, there's no Outworld, no Shao Kahn, no threat of otherworld invasion. In other words, the reasons why I hate Shang Tsung are no longer valid."
Sonya grabbed his arm, yanking it from the door frame and dragging him to the main room, closing her son's door behind them-she could listen in on the baby monitor if Danny woke up.
"And we're continuing this outside on the roof. If Danny starts crying again I'll tear you a new one."
Sonya reached out a hand, closing her eyes, focusing on the destination, as she summoned a portal. She could've used the elevator, but she had so much energy bubbling up that she needed the excuse.
"Inside, now!" She threw him inside the portal that led to the roof, before jumping inside.
"Oh, and you're one to talk about 'marrying for love'." She added with extra spite once the portal closed. "Didn't your last marriage last..oh..a year, before you devorced? I married an enemy and from what I heard, it's last 18 years so far..18 years, Cage."
