Delia had been daydreaming as she she moved about the kitchen, taking care of some sprucing up and dishes as dinner cooked in the oven. It was one thing to eat thrown together meals when by herself, but now that Ilya seemed to be staying, actual cooking made more sense. She wasn't sure what made him decide to stay, or what was going on, but figured it really wasn't any of her business. Who was she to complain, really? He was the first friend she had here, he was helping her try to work through some of the issues she was having with fire, he was company on hikes, he had that smile that made her just want to... No. That was not the sort of thing she should think about at all.
So flustered was she that when the buzzer on the oven went off and she jumped, the roll of paper towels she was using setting aflame. With a growl as she reached to the sink for, she wished the fire would just stop. When it did, she just looked at the smoking half-charred roll of towels in shock. That was something new...

Angie thought it was great that the baby was sleeping through the night... now if only she could convince Katherine that it was still night at 4:30 in the morning, she'd be pleased as punch. There were some mornings when she really, really dreaded hearing the beginning of a cry that woke her up, and no matter how much she hoped, the babe never fell back to sleep - it was always time for breakfast.
If she didn't have to go downstairs for the bottle, it'd be so much easier... to have the bottle right here. As she opened her eyes she realized there was the bottle sitting right there on the night stand, and she rolled out of bed and padded quietly to the nursery, hoping Henry wouldn't wake up as well.
It wasn't until later when she was fully awake that it struck her exactly how weird it was.

Sophie prided herself on her ability to be convincing - She was, after all, an actress, and an actress who could not convince her audience was no actress at all. The world was her stage as far as she was concerned, and even when she wasn't pulling a job, she liked to keep in practice - and lately, there really hadn't been many jobs. She was still kicking herself over getting caught with Parker, and was sure it was only the purprise of Sam showing up that had kept Nathan from coming down on her.
Still, today was getting bizarre. So far, she'd convinced a gentleman at the park she was visiting royalty, a cab driver to take her across town without a fare, and a shop owner that she was the new land lord. And not a one of them took more than the slightest bit of a story - in fact, the cab driver hadn't made her think of anything compelling, just believed her right away.
