"I love you," she said, her lungs rasping as she breathed. "Please.. If I.. I don't want.." She coughed, raising a hand to her mouth to catch the blood. She let her head rest back on the pavement, her eyes closing. "Don't stay alone for me."

She could barely process his words. They sounded so far away. Don't move. She inhaled, holding the shaky breath. Then it felt like her stomach was being ripped apart. She screamed with more force than she thought she had left.

The world seemed to spin and her vision started going dark.
