Bobby nodded. He didn't think it wise to tell his father how Ennis had attacked him, when he'd seen him. How Bobby had been black and blue for days, even weeks, after. He understood the shock, the anger, Ennis must have felt. He'd learned later, from Alma, that Ennis and his daddy were lovers. He hadn't taken the news well at the time, but it helped him understand a lot of things about himself, then, once he'd calmed down.
