Who: Shang Tsung, Alice, and her "parents" When: Evening Where: Alice's home What: Removing an annoyance from his daughter's life Rating: R
==================
Alice was unhappy about the parents she was with. And so, Shang Tsung has come to remedy that. It was the least he could do. He was her true father. Or at least, an alternate version of the man she had known in her own world. He noticed that most individuals that come here replace someone. And they usually settle in nicely with that life. However, for Alice, she was apparently the daughter (biological or adopted, he was not certain) of two parents that she could not stand to be around for some reason. That was understandable. There were some apprentices over the centuries that he loathed to tutor in the craft.
He dressed himself in a dark business suit and created a portal. Once through it, he noticed he was about a block away from the residence. He made his way there, noting that he was in some sort of suburb neighborhood. The homes looked annoyingly identical, not too far apart, and even the grass was the same. He could suddenly empathize with Alice and could see how this would be a problem. Only a few minutes, and he was already feeling vexed by these surroundings. The sorcerer was tempted to improve the scenery with a few fireballs. He mumbled under his breath, "What this place needs is another Outworld invasion..."
He arrived at the door, first checking to make sure he had the right houses. It was difficult to tell. Once he was certain, he knocked at the door. He did not have to wait long. A man opened it. Ahh, he looked middle-aged, wealthy, and a banker type. He stared into the man's eyes. Looked into his soul. As he did so, he resisted the urge to snort at his impression of this man.
The man looked him over. "Yes, what is your business here? Something I can help you with?" Ohh, he even head a tone.
Shang nodded, extending his hand. "As a matter of fact.. there is. I am Thomas Chang, one of your daughter's teachers at her school. It would seem that she has very high marks in her studies. I am interested in enrolling her in a program that will benefit her.. and by association, you and your wife as well. Financial benefits may be included too."
"Ohh.. I see." The man smiled at that. He was easily impressed. He stepped aside. "Well, then! Come in, please come in, we can talk about this more inside. My wife is out for a few hours, but I think she will agree with me."
Shang smiled at this minor victory stepping into the home and closing the door once he was in. He gestured to a chair, as though asking permission, and sat down in it once the man gave a nod. "Any chance that your daughter is here? It will save time and eliminating excessive chatter with her present. I know that in your line of work, you must tire of repeating yourself to underlings."
"Underlings.." The man laughed, then nodded in agreement, now sitting across from him on a couch. "Yes, that does get a bit old after a while. She's here." He turned his head and called toward the stairs, "Alice! Hey, Alice, could you please come down here? There is company here that wants to talk with you."
