Dan took his seat in the pilot's chair, his long slender fingers dancing over the controls to fire up the engine as if piloting this ship were as second nature to him as riding a bike. It was nothing short of perfection how he guided the ship to move up and out into the sky with ease. Her hand on his shoulder earned a quiet gaze and a fond smile of affection from him as they headed off into the darkness, the ship creating the smokescreen for cover as it usually did. He held the the steering column with one hand as they coasted along toward the Washington Monument and his other hand came up to rest over hers before taking it and holding it. His thumb softly caressed the back of her palm, just taking comfort in the small gesture as he looked up at her once before the ship turned, heading closer to the tip of the monument.
