"Mm, sounds good," he said with a nod, then stopped momentarily as he was caught off guard for a moment. Though he would admit that it was quite a nice surprise indeed. He felt her foot brush upon his. He smirked in return, smiling at that, pushing his foot forward slightly, so as to give her better access. He even brushed her foot in return. It was only fair, after all.
"Well.." He smirked, occasionally taking a few bites of his food as he spoke. "I suppose I could do another story. There was a bit of a scuffle the first day at military school. This boy was talking about my foster dad. The boy was Teddy. I instructed him.. politely, mind you.. to not speak of him again. However, it seemed that while I was being talked to by the sergeant in his office, Teddy continued with his verbal jabs, and my cousin, being a bit easier to provoke than some... well, you know how it is. Two boys, words exchanged, tempers flare. It happens in school quite a bit."
Damien paused then, for effect.. for suspense. "Then I came out. Ohh... no, no, no, not like that." He laughed at that attempt for a joke. "I stepped outside and broke it up. I somehow managed to pull Teddy off of Marky. We had a bit of a staring contest. You know those old Westerns on TV? It was like that. We stared.. and I won.. and after a few moves, he went a bit nuts, stomping and running around the glass window. Then I won the fight. Neff, by this point, came out and asked if he was done polishing the floor."
He shrugged. "But after that day.. well, Teddy wasn't so bad once we got to know him. He was probably just having a rough day that time. In fact, he was one of the first names I requested to tag along on that field trip I spoke of earlier." He noticed his potatoes were mostly done, so he finished it off with his drink. "Mmm.. well, good stuff. So how did you like that story?" He liked it. And he also liked what her foot had been doing earlier, for however long or brief it happened.
