There was a snicker at that, shaking his head "Okay fine, you worry, I'll keep being modest and the world won't grind to a halt." He said, smiling and relinquishing the fork without protest, even with a tiny cake he only needed a few bites, though he'd probably have the rest later.

"She is. Knows some of the same tricks my mom learned from her first husband the chef." A shrug, "Which either means only the good cooks know 'em, or they're universal."
