James was already half finished with his martini when she arrived because the more he thought about that, the more he kept seeing Vesper's face when she drowned herself in front of him. This wasn't a good thing for him to be reliving old pain, but he figured it wasn't good for anyone really. Because he was such a good host, he greeted Lisa at the door with her drink in his hand. With a debonair smile, he held it out to her as he let her in; they might as well get started.
