And he had no idea what to think. He was finding that he wanted to welcome Erica and gather her in to him in big hugs, but he also did not want to weird her out. He was far younger than he should be for her.

He felt weirded out and a little worried by his wonderful lady's disappearance and he wished Anya was here, but he had faith she would return. For now, he was cooking and hoping that Erica liked how he cooked. And what he cooked, for there was a lot of it.

"What smells good?" Erica asked, following the smells into the kitchen and hopping up onto a barstool. She seemed to be completely unphased by this whole thing, aside from her headache when she'd first gotten here. She'd darted off for a few hours in the afternoon but was quickly back at home, not wanting her dad to worry.

Her dad was still her dad, even if he had less grey hairs. But she could appreciate that it was a little weird for him. She didn't know if she had done some weird thing to the space-time continuum. If she had a more nervous disposition, she might be worried that if she didn't impress him that he might decide not to have her and she would stop existing. But she had no such fears, and was treating this whole thing like it was just another normal night at home.

	He turned and smiled, feeling... that same nervousness. But she was there, a beautiful daughter, his and Anya's, and his heart swelled with love and pride. "Hello, Erica. I hope your day has been a good one?" His smile was warm, and proud, and full of welcome as he bounded over, ruffled her hair, and then back to the meal. It was almost done. Erica laughed, grinning as her dad hugged her. He was always affectionate, and she loved it. That didn't keep her from teasing him about being weird, though. "Hey. Yeah, it was good. I made a new friend. His name's Wyatt." There was something in the excited tone of her voice that would make any father of a teenage daughter wary.

She scooted the stool closer to the stove and her dad. Hanging out in the kitchen while her parents cooked was a pretty regular thing for her, and she seemed completely at ease. She enjoyed being around people, especially after the somewhat traumatic experience surrounding the manifestation of her powers. She would rather hang out while her parents cooked than sit in front of a TV alone. "How 'bout you?"

	He smiled at her. "Wyatt, hmmm? Someone I should know?" He quirked an eyebrow at her, and grinned. He was finishing the food, and quickly dished it all onto plates. Home made quesadillas with chicken, cheese, and more. He handed her a plate as he settled opposite her, grinning. "I had a calm day, mostly working in my lab room, and keeping an eye out." 	She grinned, blushing. "I dunno," she said, shrugging. "Maybe eventually." She took her plate and moved over to the table with him. She nodded. "That's good. What are you working on?" 	He shook his head and smiled at her. "Just be careful, dear. Temporal dislocation is often bad news." He canted his head as he listened. "A temporal anchor to create a bonded field of reality around individual auras. "I'll be fine, Dad. He's just a really nice guy." She wasn't really planning on disappearing any day now, but in the back of her mind she knew it was possible. Maybe that was part of the fun. It was like a summer fling.

She tilted her head when he explained. "Oh... Do you.. want to keep me here?" In as much as she hadn't been planning to go, she hadn't really been planning to stay, either. She'd been through enough crazy vortex stuff that she knew to just lay back and enjoy the ride. She hadn't considered the implications of staying. All her friends wouldn't be born for a few years. And school would be different.
