The shove sent Rurik sprawling to the floor, knocked off balance and pushed right off the edge of the bed. He let himself fall, landing with a dull thud. Raising his head, he peered onto the mattress. Well, that was odd. Kai didn't look any different, to Rurik's keen eyes, though he immediately sensed that something was a bit off, he just didn't know what, and the fog of sleep wasn't helping.
He rubbed at his eyes. "The hell's gotten in to you, old friend?"
