When Sonya finally arrived at the hospital, the contractions slowly came closer together. She went through the paperwork and got herself into bed with the help of her housekeeper Mrs. Taylor, who went through the whole process without saying a thing, giving her trade mark 'death glare' to the other mothers or nurses that gave her boss a pitying look.

Once in the hospital bed with her legs in the stir-ups, Sonya hoped she wouldn't be alone for too long, and she wasn't just referring to the baby. The last thing she wanted was to deliver him in a room just with doctors.

A sharp contraction made her hiss in pain, cursing her husband for vanishing and herself for even thinking about him at this time. Around her neck was the small gold pendant, Tsung gave her for her birthday last month, the chinese character for her surname. As much as she wanted to kill Tsung and as much as the nurse insisted that she remove it..Sonya couldn't bring herself to do so.

Damn her and her ingrained loyalty.

Ganieda had hurried over as soon as she could, telling the information desk people that she was Sonya's sister--a quick little trick of the voice that Merlin had taught her made them believe her.

It didn't take very long before Ganieda was by Sonya's side in the delivery room, scrubbed and gowned and looking about curiously.

She'd never even been in a hospital before.

She came to the side of the bed. "Sonya...how is it?" she asked in concern.

	Ganieda went to the side indicated and sat down. "Epidural? I suppose that's a modern thing I haven't had a chance to find out about yet. But then, back in my day, it was only women delivering a baby...there was none of this," she says, indicating the hospital room. "Do you know what you'll name him?" (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Sonya shrugged, "They make a big deal out of it, because there's always the risk of something that could go wrong."

"An epidural's a procedure where they stick a really big, hollow needle and tube inside the woman's back and a machine drips medicine through the needle a little at a time and it numbs you from the waist down, so labor doesn't hurt. They have to stick it in before the actual pushing starts."

She smiled. "His name's going to be Danniel, and he'll have Shang's sirname, but only because I don't hate Tsung that much."

	"You're right in both cases." She looked at the machine once more. "Assuming it kicks in." "It was my brother's name, he was killed in the police force eight years ago from when I arrived here." 	"It is good of you to remember him in a tribute like that." She leaned back in her chair. "I hope it is as easy for you as possible, and if there is any way I may help, just let me know."
