When Anteros spoke, Anne continued looking at Psyche for the longest moment before finally fixing a look on the god. And when she did, she sighed, shaking her head.
"You'll have to forgive me for not being oh-so-thrilled for my best friend having that child she so desperately wanted with the one person I swore to love for eternity. The one who promised to love me for that long." The smile on her face was sad. "You were wrong, Ant. You were wrong to think that coming here and telling me would make it easier or better or would somehow absolve you of what you've done. If you're looking for a blessing to continue-" Her smile was sad. "You were never MY Anteros, were you?"
Looking back at Psyche, Anne put a hand to her own heart. "I was prepared to accept any child you had with Daddy. I expected it, looked forward to it. This is such a betrayal, I can't even-" She shook her head. "Congratulations on finally getting what you wanted, Psyche, at the expense of our friendship. For what it's worth, you'll make a wonderful mother."
