WHO: Reinette and the Human!Doctor.
WHERE: Huis ten Bosch Palace.
WHEN: Early evening.
RATING/WARNINGS: TBD. None yet.
STATUS: In progress.

Reinette stood by the window, looking out at the area around the palace. It really was lovely, though she did miss Versailles quite a bit. She had dearly loved her home. Still, she was certain she could become accustomed to this. She was nothing if not adaptable, and the presence of her Doctor, even though she had yet to see him in person, was a comfort. She did hope that he would be true to his word and come to see her soon. She had missed him, though it had not been long since she had last seen him, and she was worried.

What could have happened that he had become so bitter? That was what troubled her, more than his sudden mortality. In all truth, his humanity was hardly something she saw as a negative. He was, in almost all respects, the angel she had loved for so many years...since she was a child if she was honest. But he could grow old with her, if he chose, and the thought warmed her heart. Of course she missed her king, she was hardly heartless or fickle, but it was as she had told Louis. The Doctor was the only man, aside from him, that she had ever loved.

"Majesty," a voice said, and she turned to see one of the staff there, "you have a visitor." She turned away to hide a small, hopeful smile. Perhaps it was him. She could only hope that it was. "Very well," she said with a nod, "send them in."
