After Anteros had left, Psyche had worked to put her house, now their house, back to rights. Instead of handwaving the mess clean, she cleaned it the manual way, just to give herself some time to think. She was pregnant. Really, truly pregnant. Without her Eros. she'd given up on that ever happening. But now she was. Of course, not by the best person, but he'd at least seemed good about it, if not a little freaked. Hopefully, that would pass. Once she finished the cleaning, she decided to take a long hot bath, then dressed in a silky nightgown, laid down for a nap.

~~~A bit later~~~

Warm and sleepy, Psyche drifted out of her nap. Stretching, she smiled at her dream. She'd dreamed she and Ant had gotten drunk, had sex and made a baby. All for Anne, who was dead. But that couldn't be the truth, because Anne...Anne was alive! And no way would they do that if Anne was still alive.

Her eyes opened slowly, then popped wide open. No, it hadn't been a dream. They really had created a baby...but Anne. She really was...

"ANTEROS!"

Whatever he'd been doing, no longer mattered. He'd promised her he'd make every effort to answer her call, and he had no reason not to respond. So he'd found himself in her bedroom all at once, struggling a little to right himself (he was still getting reacquainted with that whole process).

"Uh. Hi?" He said, a hand raised to his head, looking around. His mind needed a few seconds to catch up to his body, once he'd landed.

	Sitting on the edge of the bed with her head between her knees, Psyche was trying very hard to calm down. She raised a hand to him in greeting, but didn't try to move her head should the hyperventalating start again. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

That stopped Ant in his pacing. He pivoted, looking at her. "You're shitting me. Please. I mean. Gods. I'm...If she's alive, that's wonderful. But. But, we're both dead, Psyche." He sat down on the edge of the bed, feeling entirely bowled over. He was more than happy that Anne was alive, certainly. But that meant he had to ace the consequences of what he had done with Psyche. Drunk or not, Anne wasn't going to buy the excise, we did it for you.

	"No," Anteros answered simply. "She'll know. She'd know, wouldn't she?" His eyes went to her belly. She wasn't showing, but she would in time. "More like added protection. The only people that know are Dite and Mel and they wouldn't tell...I don't think." At least Mel wouldn't, Dite could be unpredictable at best.

"Anteros, I won't let her hurt the baby. She can yell, she can scream. But she won't hurt the baby." She really did hope Anne didn't resort to violence, but if she did, Psyche was more than willing to defend herself.

	She wasn't quite as sure that Anne would understand anything. She wasn't particularly known for being understanding when it came to Anteros. "I hope so." "Ok."

She took his hand, and settled down to tell him something she was quite sure he wasn't going to like.

"You and Anne were in love yes. But you were her love. Was and always will be. She's very, VERY possessive over you. I've seen her go crazy when you all you do is flirt with other women. And I'm her best friend. What we did broke the code of girl friendship. It doesn't matter who she's with. It doesn't matter if she has a child or not. It doesn't matter that we were inebriated. She will be very, very, very mad. You need to know that going in."

Ant shook his head. "See, that's just irrational. For one, she was dead. For two, I'd hope we're well past 'do as I say, not as I do'. She wasn't sitting around pining away for me, I don't know why she would expect me to do that. Especially when I barely remember anything."

Was he worried? Maybe a little. He knew Anne was not going to take the news well. "And for three, she ought to be happy for you. You're her best friend. You've always wanted a baby, and now you're having one."
