"Then reason you will have." Aramis whispered as he squeezed Athos gently, kissing the top of his head. He didn't want to ever let go. Didn't want his lover to ever drift away from him. The words would haunt him in his dreams, he knew. He'd already had his doubts that Athos would want to stay with him even in his old age but now he knew the younger man would and he would do his best to keep his lover happy and safe.
"I love you more than life itself, you know. If it all were to fall away, I'd just want you in my arms." Really, he was a poet at heart and just wished his words could sooth the man in his arms. "If you ever doubt my love tell me Athos, so I may make it better. Please."
