Ennis was in the barn, as Jack must have known since all the animals were bedded down. He was silent, as Ennis often was. At least until the moment he sprang forward from the shadows to pin Jack against the wall of the barn, strong wood creaking and sighing with the weight pressed against it. Mouths met in a fiery kiss, passion threatening to consume Ennis if not Jack. Rough, calloused hands gripped Jack's jaw, holding to him and keeping him close.
