"Saturnalia is the Roman holiday celebrating Saturn. So That's Saturn... albeit a very strange depiction of him... The Roman's generally didn't show him eating his kids. Usually, in Roman towns, his statues would be bound with rope all year, but during Saturnalia he was set free, and a couch was offered before his statue for him. Basically, the whole holiday is in memory of the Golden Age of man, which Saturn ruled over... before Jupiter, or Zeus as he's better known, took over. It's marked with all sorts of fun and carousing nd role reversal. And.... Basically, we're Greek, Not Roman... and we just use it asan excuse to party. Because the Romans really were a bit better at having fantastic amounts of fun."
