Who: Gwynn and Siana Cooper (because they're married).
What: Adjusting to married life.
Where: Their house in Cardiff.
When: Morning. A few days after they found out they were married. [Backdated]
Rating: TBD.

It was unsettling to Siana, suddenly finding herself married to one of her coworkers. It definitely could have been worse. As Toshio had pointed out, she could have been married to Olwen...and that was a fate she wouldn't have wished on anyone. Still, she was uncomfortable with this change in her life. She wished Jack were here to help her make sense of this, but it was never simple with Jack and she was beginning to think that her captain would never show up. Maybe she was off with her Doctor again.

Luckily, their house had two bedrooms, so she was able to avoid unneccessary awkwardness with Gwynn. She felt bad for him. It was probably harder on him, missing Ree and all. She frowned thoughtfully as she walked into the kitchen, making her way over to the cafetière. It was the first thing she had bought, upon realising that whoever she had replaced knew noting of coffee-making. She added coffee and water, leaving it to brew. It was too early to contemplate this without caffeine. She took out some bread, moving to make toast as she waited for the coffee to brew.

He knew it could be worse, at least with Siana things would be civil and she didn't have to worry about suddenly living with someone he'd never met before but who thought they knew him. And as had been pointed out he could have ended up with Olwen which would have been the worse fate if only because Olwen would most likely have taken every opportunity to remind Gywnn of his past mistakes.

He missed Rhiannon more than he wanted to think about, and couldn't help checking his blackberry every few minutes to see if she'd shown up here. Everytime he looked though he ended up feeling disappointed and so had given up on checking it quite so often. Jack hadn't turned up either yet which made things even worse somehow and he supposed Siana felt the same.

He came down stairs as soon as the scent of fresh coffee had made it to his bedroom and smiled when he saw Siana in the kitchen. "Least I don't need to worry about not being able to get decent coffee," he told her, "or breakfast apparently. I didn't even get this treatment with Ree, well not unless she'd gone out all night with her mates and was trying to make up for it."

Siana just shook her head with a bemused smile. "You're assuming a lot there, Gwynn," she teased as she moved to toast some more bread. "But yes. You can taunt Olwen with the fact that you get good coffee outside the office now."

She poured two cups of coffee, fixing Gwynn's from memory. It was weird, but she didn't really feel uncomfortable serving coffee or making toast for her 'husband'. It just felt like another part of her job at the hub. She looked at Gwynn for a moment, then spoke in what she hoped was a reassuring tone.

"I'm sure Ree will show up soon, Gwynn," she said. She had her doubts about Jack, but she had faith that Gwynn's fiancée would arrive. "And when she does, we'll fix this and you two will carry on as you have." She looked down at her coffee thoughtfully for a moment, not really sure what else to say.

Hwynn pouted at little at Siana's comment, even though he knew she as right. He wouldn't have assumed it with anyone else, but he was used to Siana dealing with his ever need at work it had apparently leaked through to home life. "Sorry," he told her honestly as he took a seat at the counter and watched her. "And I'll be sure to add it to the list," he joked. It would probably annoy her actually, which was always a good way of killing time on a quiet day.

"I'm not sure I'd want to wish this on her," he admitted, feeling a little guilty for even suggesting it, "there's a reason I've never told her about what we do and it wouldn't exactly be easy to hide all that weird stuff if she ended up here." Sighing he took a sip of the coffee and smiled faintly. "And if she did turn up where would you go? You're not already looking for somewhere else live are you? I mean this isn't exactly ideal it's pretty easy. I found some paperwork in my bedroom actually, we own the house and everything you know. I never thought I'd get to own a nice house like this. We didn't even own the flat."

"Don't worry," Siana said, "you lot are just used to me looking after you." She didn't resent them as much as she had when they'd discovered Lee. Sure, sometimes it annoyed her when they couldn't seem to find the waste bin or do their own paperwork, but she didn't really mind too much.

"I'm sure she would be happy as long as she was with you," Siana reassured him. "She's probably more able to cope than you realise." She considered his question. "I would find a place. I haven't been looking really...this is practical for the moment. I had a small flat back home...but I spent most of my time at the hub. Even had a little room there." Not that she'd spent much time in it.

"That doesn't really make it any better though does it? I mean it's not like I can't cope myself. You do so much for us Sian, and we never really thank you do we? We should, because we'd be in the shit without you," he smiled a little at her. "Anyway I promise to do my fair share around the house, and to stop taking you for granted either here or at work, deal?"

"You're probably right," he agreed, "it's just not something I'm sure I want to test out? God I sound horrible don't I? I want her here of course I do, but well this place is even wierder than Cardiff back home."

As Siana spoke Gwynn realised how little he knew about his work colleague. "Well don't start, if she shows up we'll deal with it then, okay? So where are you working here? I can't find anything to suggest I have a job actually, thought I might talk to Torchwood here and see if they could use me."

"It really doesn't bother me," Siana assured him with a smile. And it didn't. Not anymore. "For one, I doubt Olwen is familiar with words like 'please' and 'thank you'. For another, I've felt much more involved in the team since Jack left and came back. It's been nice."

"It just means you want to protect her," Siana said sympathetically. "But you have to wonder...does she want to be protected? This place is no less safe than any other. The bad things are just out in the open."

Siana nodded. "I won't," she told Gwynn. "Honestly? The company has been nice. It makes it a little easier, not having Jack around." Because someone would have be be somewhat oblivious to not realise they were involved. Then again...her coworkers could be rather oblivious at times. "I have a job working as an archivist for the British Museum, but I'd prefer to go back to Torchwood, if possible."

"Well as long as you know we do appreciate you, Olwen included even if she never would say it. And we really couldn't have managed without you while she was good. I'm glad you've been able to get more involved, it's about time I think."

He considered what she'd said as he took another longer sip of coffee. "It's not just the dangerous stuff I want to protect her from though, it's...well this whole universe is completely different and magic exists and, aliens are one thing but all of this well it's something else isn't it?"

"I'm glad I can be of help," he told her, smiling warmly at her. He missed Jack too of course and could imagine how Siana felt, it couldn't be easy, not after she'd just reappeared too. "That sounds interesting, but if you'd like I can mention you when I contact Torchwood, I know you're good enough at your job that two of you might be slight overkill," he joked, "but I'm sure if the rest of us join Olwen would make enough mess to keep you both busy."
