She took the pack of tissues and smiled up at him as she dabbed her eyes. "Thank you." She curled her knees up under her chin and smiled at his form in her kitchen. Even if someone had gone, she had friends that would stay. And that was very comforting for her.
"You don't have to pay, I don't mind." She waited for him to sit next to her, moving to burrow into his side. He was a little warmer than usual, and she smiled. "You're warmer than you were before. I'm glad you're full so that me eating won't bother you." She shook her head at what he'd said, still smiling even though it was mostly sad. "I just want someone here. Just...
