Bill Sheats is a vagabond, a rascal. ([info]deusexvampira) wrote in [info]utr_logs,
Bill laughed and poked his tongue out at her before he started, "Well, I should first let you know that I've been on Jack's crew since I was merely a child. I signed on as a cabin boy at th'age of twelve, and had known of Captain Jack Sparrow through th'penny dreadfuls I'd read even before then. I've always admired him, you see, as a pirate, and simply as a good man. He taught me all I'd ever learned that's kept me going 'til this day, save for two things, reading and writing. That's something I taught him. But even as a boy, I admired him. He was a fair pirate, treated his crew with respect and honor, even if they were cutthroats as they sometimes tended to be. He fairly judged th'men on his ship and made bargains as easily and as sneakily as any man could ever do. There was nothin' about him I didn't truly love. As I grew up, we bonded further and further. I suppose I'd grown on him, too, since even then, I was far too polite and lighthearted a person to ever be considered a bloodthirsty, money hungry pirate. It was th'thrill of freedom that drove me, th'ability to explore an' see things that people had only ever dreamed of seeing. And I suppose that's another bond that we shared.
"It didn't take long for me to fancy him at all, in th'jist of things. And th'same thing goes f'him, I'd imagine." He shrugged slightly. "Oh, but there's still times that he and I have our disagreements, some that have gone on for more than a decade at a time. But we find our way back to each other and forgive each other. It's th'way love is supposed to be."

While he spoke, he'd shifted so that he was taking up the entire couch, sprawled on his side, with his head propped up by a hand and a pillow.
