Hattie had taken time to cool down. She'd put the baby down for a nap he didn't need and then set about getting lunch ready even though they'd just had breakfast. And, of course, the conclusion she'd come to was that it wasn't KITT's fault. It wasn't even Kitt's fault. She had known that then, she just didn't want to talk about it now.
Outside the room, she heard the two voices and once again boggled at the fact that her 'actually AI, occasionally human' husband was conversing with his counterpart from, well... his future. And then, the voices went quiet and she peeked around the corner to see Kitt slide inside KITT and her breath caught. She stood in the doorway and just watched.
