"I'm doing better. Having you come visit kept me busy all day so I could get ready," she said, putting the flowers into a vase and bringing them into the room to set on a nearby table.
"Things are still somewhat rough for me, but I'm getting better." She turned to look at him before moving to sit near him. "How have you been?"
