Who: Kon-El, Sir Integral Hellsing What: Breaking Integral's brain Where: Her apartment When: a billion years ago (Nov. 3) Warnings: cursing. Lots of cursing.
Integral paced her apartment, smoking a cigar, fuming. She couldn't be stuck here. Just couldn't. She was on a holy mission. God would not divert her from it.
Right?
Right.
Obviously, her presence back home was necessary. She had been willing and ready to die for her cause.
She hadn't even gotten to shoot that Nazi robot abomination. Fuck!
Kon knocked at her window, worried about this new friend, worried about her sanity and her ability to deal.
He carried chocolates, cigars, and wine.
Hopefully something would help her relax.
Integral jerked the curtain open. She blinked for a moment, and then opened the window. "Come in. Can't have you hovering out there."
Kon landed on her floor and nodded, holding out a large covered mug.
"Here. I bring Coffee from Vienna."
He lifted a bag.
"And chocolate from Switzerland, and lunch from Hong Kong."
Integral quirked her eyebrows and nodded. "Thank you. Have a seat."
She was still limping, but the doctor had said she didn't need the crutches anymore. Good riddance, in her mind. "Have you been well, Kon?"
She tapped the end of her cigar in the ashtray, and then stubbed it out, realizing that talking and smoking didn't mix well.
"I am fine. I was just worried about you. People new to this place sometimes have a hard time dealing. And you are a good person."
She snorted. "I don't plan on staying long. There is no doubt some way to get out of here. I cannot be diverted. My task is the protection of my entire world, and I will not fail!"
Kon blinked, and then sighed.
"I honestly don't think you will find a way, since no one ever has, but you are welcome to keep looking."
He swallowed.
"Someone will save the world, even if you are not around. Heroes have a bad habit of popping up."
Integral snorted. "I was chosen by God for my task. That's not something to be taken lightly, or abandoned easily."
She sat, looking angry. But she was lost, and she knew it.
"And if God is behind it, then would not God have taken this into consideration?"
Integral glared at him, and said nothing.
Kon sighed.
"Look, I'm just trying to help, but if you're going to glare, I'm taking off."
"Thank you for the thought." He could go or stay, she didn't see
Kon sighed. "Look, I'm just trying to help, but if you're going to glare, I'm taking off."
"Thank you for the thought." He could go or stay, she didn't care.
He stared at her.
"Wow... you are the most arrogant woman I know. I hope you find what you are looking for. I was hoping for conversation."
He turned and headed for the window.
"Call me if you start living in the world God has made you, instead of your dreams."
"I am arrogant. And I'm a selfish bitch," She stood again, now legitimately angry. "What the hell did you expect to find when you came here? Some sobbing little girl desperate for anything to cling to? Why did you come here, anyway?"
Her eyes are narrowed, and her entire posture says that she is angry. If she were less polite she'd be treating him like all other threats (Threatening to shoot them until they left).
"I came here because I met someone who seemed new and seemed like they might just want to talk to someone who had been here awhile. I came because I like helping people and hate seeing people feeling alone, or abandoned, a feeling I know too well. I came here, frankly, because I thought I could, if nothing else, answer questions, or give advice. Since your basic reaction to all this is denial and you won't even listen to me, I figured I would leave and not bother you anymore. I am not here to hurt you, or to anger you. And I am sorry I did so."
Kon was hovering, agitated.
Integral frowned a little more. "If I am worried or lost, it's not anyone else's business. I will find my own way, here or elsewhere."
She grumbled a little under her breath. "I apologize for being a rude host. But this is not the time for company. Thank you, again, for your concern, but I would rather just take a bath and go to bed."
Kon shrugged.
"I help people if I can. It is how I work. Sorry if I offended you."
He raised an eyebrow and nodded.
"Accepted. And okay. I hope your evening goes well."
