"And that implies a sentient mind or force behind it. Which could be intriguing, if we could contact it."
She grinned at him.
"Excellent! We might be able to establish a melding of efforts."
She nodded to his cards and cash.
"At least we both have some resources. By pooling them, we can at least get a start on doing what we need to do, and use our best resource to establish the rest. We will do it."
Confidence filled her as she thought of it.
Looking aside at him, she slipped her arm around him and pulled him close, leaning her head against his shoulder. She thanked the waiters and just held him for a moment.
"It's a whole new adventure, but we will get through it, together. With you and I together, nothing is out of our reach, love."
And she turned his head gently to kiss him again, just a soft, nearly chaste kiss. Her eyes were full of her confidence in him and them as she kissed him.
