She was stronger than she looked... quite a bit really, and just laughed softly as he hauled himself upright, pressing a kiss to his shoulder.
"Almost there, baby..."
As they reached the side of the bed, she let him fall gently to the mattress face first, moving into the bathroom for a moment and returning with a clay jar. She climbed on the bed, straddling his hips, and began smoothing a cool cream on his back, careful around the bruises. Part of her wanted to heal them a bit... but he'd earned them, and she'd hate to take them away. Rolling to the side, she kissed his cheek, smiling warmly.
