Esk ran down the empty school hallway, nearly slipping at one point. She caught herself with her staff and then turned, pushing open the door to the school's yearbook room. She was pretty sure she was only a few minutes late. Her hair was still wet from the swimteam practice she'd just come from. "Sorry!" she said, a little out of breath, to the faculty sponsor. Luckily, most of the teachers understood that she was in a lot of different extracurricular activities and didn't give her a hard time if she was a little late.
She went to sit down in the closest empty seat. "Hey," she said to the blonde girl in the next seat as she put her staff down on the floor between them.
