"No," his voice got a little stronger then. "No. It wasn't your fault. You did the best you could." His hand slid from her cheek to her hair. He rubbed a few blond strands through his fingers, enjoying the texture. Nothing had ever felt this good before. "It wasn't your fault and I'm not going to let you think that it was." He kissed her cheek. It was a light, soft kiss. When he pulled away, he licked his lips to savor her taste.
"I missed you, too." He got a little choked up, felt his eyes water but he blinked it all away.
