Denny would probably have his own breakdown sometime after it hit him that he'd be a weak, bedridden heart patient again. He wasn't the kind of person who did well sitting around all day waiting for his cure. Before his heart problems, he'd been a tough, active guy. To go from being perfectly healthy one day to being attached to machines by twenty wires was a lot for him to handle. He'd done it once. The second time around would probably be as tough.
But he couldn't really muster up any sort of negative feelings. He'd been dead and then, very suddenly, he'd woken up in a strange bed alive. He was in a different place, but Izzie was here. He couldn't see this as anything else but a second chance. Even though his heart was attached to a battery, he couldn't exactly complain.
"So, guys, I need to go to Kent Memorial." The EMTs were looking at Denny crooked. He seemed too happy and they couldn't find anything wrong with him - LVAD aside. He hadn't remembered his address and he was talking about vortexes. Denny had the feeling the EMTs were going to suggest he be sent for a psyche checkup. He couldn't really blame them.
They got to Kent quickly and Denny was wheeled out of the back of the ambulance. He caught the sight of blond hair before he saw her face. When he got full sight of her, he smiled the smile of a man who was looking at the only woman in the world that mattered. The EMTs were prattling off his information, but Denny couldn't hear them. He just grinned at Izzie. "Hi." He wasn't near enough to reach out and touch her, so he just waved. He looked away from her for only a second to glance up at the EMTs, "Thanks, guys. The pretty doctor'll take it from here, I think."
