Edward sighed at his brother's thoughts. "Simply because I do not have a soul mate as the rest of you do, it does not mean that my life is lacking in any fashion." If he'd been stronger than Emmett, he would have fought him on the point. As it was, the only one Edward could "fight" was Alice, and that was typically while they were playing a round of silent chess.
Edward's head snapped up, though, just a tad before Emmett's. "Yes, she is." He stood and opened the door to his sister's new home and stared at the girl who was obviously not quite human, but most definitely not a vampire, either.
"Please, Renesmee, come inside."
After he shut the door behind her, Edward's hands were clasped behind him and he struggled for a fraction of a second not to read her thoughts, but gave in. He said nothing, though, instead allowing her to take the lead.
"You said you had a way to show me something? So that I would understand about the world where you came from?"
