Who: Henry Townshend and Elphaba Thropp
What: Meeting
Where/When: Henry's offices/Tonight
Warnings: I'll let you know
(Now in the correct comm!)

Elphaba had memorised the address Henry quoted her in the comments, and made her way there with haste. She felt vulnerable and exposed with the Grimmerie so visible in her possession. She had held it close to her breast since arriving in this new world, as it were, allowing her only one hand to do everything else. She had no way of knowing if the Wizard was about at all, given that she was no longer in Oz, it seemed unlikely, and yet she wasn't willing to take casual, irresponsible chances with something as sacred and potentially powerful as the Grimmerie. For all she knew, it was reduced to a novelty in this plane of existence, though she didn't think that the case. She had called upon one of the spells to help her find Glinda the day before, after all. There was still power in the yellowed pages, and that power needed to be contained and protected, kept from hands who would use it for evil.

Arriving at her destination, Elphie secured the book in her satchel, a hand held to the coarse fabric. She did not know this Henry Townshend, nor did she know if he were at all trustworthy. She had to believe he was, for his offer of security came at just the right time to be fate. Fate had never once been kind to Elphaba Thropp, and she had only a gut feeling now, to hope things would be different this time.

She approached the door with minimal apprehension and used the handle of her broom to knock.

Henry hadn't had much to do today, surprisingly. He'd expected quite a bit more business on a day like Halloween. In fact, he'd expected to be awoken far too early in the morning by craziness of all sorts. Instead he'd had a fairly calm day...which made him extremely worried. Knowing the way this universe behaved, Halloween of all days being crazy-free was flat-out impossible, and the fact that nothing had happened yet was setting off all kinds of warning bells in his brain.

Business with the woman he'd spoken to - he'd forgotten to get her name - helped ease him somewhat. He'd moved out into the lounge, making sure to have any emails forwarded to his phone, and started sipping some coffee. He'd also slipped his gun into a shoulder holster and thrown on his dark trench coat. He didn't think this woman meant him any harm, but he wasn't taking any chances. He made sure it was well hidden so that she wouldn't get jumpy or make any assumptions, but if she turned out to be an enemy he was prepared to defend himself.

When she knocked, he rose and answered the door, keeping his coffee in his free hand. If he was at all shocked by seeing a green woman standing at his door, he didn't show it. "Hey. Thanks for coming." He smiled reassuringly, stepped to the side so that she could enter and jerked his head towards the lounge. "C'mon in."

Elphie nodded politely. She did not remove her hat as she stepped inside. Her eyes scanned the room, as if seeking out a quick escape if one should be needed. She turned her attention back to Henry with a slight smile.

"It's good of you to meet with me on such short notice, Mr Townshend." The truth of it was, she didn't want to carry the Grimmerie around, and being unfamiliar with the land, so to speak, she couldn't be sure who her enemies might be.

She hoped, above all, that she was grossly over reacting. It wouldn't be the first time, nor the last. She held out her right hand, green though it was. "I am Elphaba Thropp."

Henry shook it without hesitation, smiling broadly. He didn't mind that Elphaba looked different. After everything he'd seen and everything he'd done, how a person looked meant nothing to him. "Don't worry about it. I want to help if I can." He led her over to the lounge and offered her a seat. "We'll be fine talking here. All my other employees have gone home early for Halloween." He considered getting right to business, but decided that manners came first. "Can I get you anything to drink?"

"That isn't necessary, Mr Townshend," Elphie smiled a polite and courteous smile. "But if you've a bit of tea, I wouldn't mind it." She was more interested in getting to the business of the Grimmerie, but at the same time, she didn't want to rush things.
